One of the boy's favorite songs-
The Dead Milkmen
My Many Smells
Sometimes I smell like a barrel of rotting fruitStinking up the jungle under the hot tropical sun
Other times I smell like think black swamp water
That's backed up into your toilet on a warm summer day
These are a few of my many smells
Won't you come and smell me?
Won't you share my stench?
Won't you come and smell me?
Won't you share my stench?
Sometimes I smell just like the bathroom
After Grandma's used it and she's been eating prunes.
Other times I smell like a city garbage strike
When all the horseflies grow to three inches long
These are a few of my many smells
Won't you come and smell me?
Won't you share my stench?
Won't you come and smell me?
Won't you share my stench?
Sometimes I smell just like death itself
A sickening sweet smell, I could really make you ill.
Smell me (x5)
See me
Hear me
Touch me
Smell me (x4)
While headed to the bathroom here at work, I was assaulted by the distinctive coconut oil suntan lotion smell of Hawaiian Tropic (HT). Blegh. Not one of my favorite (or many, ha!) smells; I'm more of a Coppertone smell kinda gal. The HT reminded me of oil slicks on the surface of the neighborhood pool in the late 70's, early 80's, and the leathery, oily super-tanned women who used the product. My mom, of course, never looked icky nor stunk of coconuts. HT was not allowed in the pool at my parents' house. I only remember the yicky oil slick action at their pool once, from Aunt Phyllis. She apparently didn't get the memo. :)
Interestingly, I'm not a fan of pina coladas or flavored coffees from the Flavia machine here at work. The French Vanilla smells like coconut to me. Ick. Coincidence? Maybe.
Ah but there are almond joys!
ReplyDeleteI was a Hersey Cocoa Butter kind of gal
