Britney Spears
It's hard to believe that it's been 7+ years since Britney Spears' "Toxic" video. 7 sounds like such a long time, but it doesn't feel that long ago. Then I look at Henry, who is now 10, and realize that it was some time ago. And this is exactly why I love music; you always feel something. For me, it was that song coming on my Zune.
Back to Bejeweled Blitz, which I purchased from Popcap for $20. The best game right now. Love it.

though most of my mp3s came from his ipod, i have a acquired more in the interim. so, modern english's "I'll Melt With You" is mistakenly attributed to the cure. weird.

you get the first one, you want more. But when you want to get rid of them, you have to use lasers!

Koko fat butt
I do believe Koko just said hello. She's was the best kitty ever. If you never met Koko, you surely missed out. That she was a tortie says a lot. I was talking to Sophie and called her Koko. I believe the dead pop in on occasion to sort of wave "hello", in both sleeping dreams and waking dreams.
The new issue of vanity fair isn't going to read itself, so I go.
I come through the window.

raise da roof
i am so ready for the school year to be over.
holla!
holla!
happy happy monday!
the endless washington spring continues. it was nice yesterday and saturday and now it's raining. i want to rub my eyes but it hurts when i rub my eyes but they itch, so i want to rub my eyes (especially the right one) but it hurts... PLEASE STOP ALTERNATING SUN AND RAIN! at least for a week. you see, when it rains and then is sunny and then rains again followed by sunny, the blooming things with the pollen keep pumping their goodness out. and it all seems to have fallen into my right eye this morning. oy. have you seen that ben stein commercial for clear eyes with the beach ball-eye and the sand? multiply that feeling by at least 17, and that's how the right eye is feeling. allegra, benadryl and sudafed. if i could apply these directly into my eyes, i would. i wonder if i've topped out with the allegra? it has been a few years. ugh.
anywhoodles, make it a great day!

Netflix recent views, because i knew you were dying to know
Another Country (Rupert Everett, Colin Firth)
The Panic in Needle Park (Al Pacino pre-Godfather)
Grown Ups (Adam Sandler, that guy from Mall Cop, sundry SNL alumni, Selma Hayek)
S21: The Khmer Rouge Killing Machine (heavy stuff but i read a large chunk of Pol Pot's biography, so i found this fascinating)
Claymore (awesome anime)
Network (just an awesome movie; i can't believe it took me this long to see it; faye dunaway is otherwordly, bill holden is so old and wrinkly-too much sun, i bet)
on a side-note, in my bathroom, a bulb that has been sputtering all day finally died. it sounded like a mouse-sized whoopie cushion.
my book haven (built-in bookshelves, library ladder accessing yet more books in the loft area) is nearly complete. it is going to be so super fun to unpack those boxes. i'm not even facetious there. i've always been a voracious reader, but since he died, I have somehow been unable to stay focused on a book. i'm thinking that if i remind myself of all the books that i have and the shelves to accommodate yet more books, i will be inspired to read more.
time to shop for bookends.
